The home is amazing with beautiful views, quiet, and is so cozy. It has more amenities than is listed and the check in/out process is super easy. Midge is very easy to communicate with welcoming.

If you are looking for a peaceful and cozy stay with mountain views from every porch, this is your spot! The host is a fabulous communicator, and the home is conveniently located to amenities in Boone and West Jefferson but far enough away to feel like you have your own private nature retreat. Everything you could possibly need or want has already been thoughtfully provided - coffee of all types, a wine chiller, toiletries, extra bedding, books, and games. You could easily cook and serve a lovely dinner party here with the kitchenware they include! Each porch (there are three!) has rocking chairs, and we enjoyed observing tons of wildlife in the yard and hills below. The upstairs loft area of the home conveniently includes its own private porch, a bathroom, a desk/working area, and a plush couch. The house is a true log cabin, and the hardwood floors are gorgeous. All the furniture throughout the home fits perfectly with the elegant yet rustic decor, and while there is a TV and wifi in the home, you will quicky forget about needing it as you relax by the stone fireplace and revel in the sounds of nature that surround you. There are lots of vacation homes available in Watauga and Ashe counties, but few of them hold a candle to the beauty, convenience, and peacefulness of this property. We can't wait to visit again!

Great location with great views!

We were making a last minute trip in the depth of winter to visit our daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids in Boone and stumbled upon this property (New Years 2025). Wanted to find a property that wasn't too far off the the main road (NC 194) and this fit the bill although it was further outside of Boone than we're accustomed to.This place is lovely and with really nice views. If you like to cook, this had the most well-equipped kitchen we've seen among rentals in the area.As I mentioned, it's 30 minutes out from Boone but only 20 minutes or so from West Jefferson which is a nice little town with other food destination options.The owner's communication was exemplary. We're interested in revisiting this property in warmer weather.All in all, can't recommend this property enough. Bravo.

The place is adorable and we enjoyed our stay. The only negative was that there were a ton of dead flies throughout the interior. Apparently it is a problem in the area right now but a quick cleaning visit prior to a check in would go a long way.
